I am waiting to find out if I am exhibiting at the Brighton Craft Fair in Ship Street on Saturday. I wish they would hurry up and tell me because I want to start nagging people to go to it. Really I should start making more ice cream necklaces but instead I have been eating Doritos (with a hint of lime) (that didn't belong to me) and watching the Danish version of The Killing. I am up to episode 8. Anyway here are some interesting things that are in Emily Warren's house;
The last photo is not in Emily's house, it is in the John Harvey Tavern in Lewes. I can't believe it's only 2 months till Bonfire. It seems like only yesterday I threw up after drinking my sister's rum and missed the fireworks. Hopefully I will see them this year.

Here are some pictures of a miniature cheeseboard I have made. It was given to my housemate as a present but I have stolen it back. I don't know if he has noticed. I can make more cheeseboards with different cheeses on.

Here are some pendants I have made using polymer clay items embedded in resin with a polymer clay layer glued on the back.

Do you like iced gems? I can make them any colour and stick them to earring studs.
Here is a random photo of when I painted a Lichtenstein gun on my parents landing wall. My brother is now twice the height that he was in that picture.

I met some really nice people at the market especially Tina at the stall next to me who made necklaces out of buttons. There was one old lady who wasn't very nice though and said the price of my miniature cake was ridiculous and how could she afford that. Then she ran off! Then there was a tombola featuring as prizes the contents of an old lady's bathroom. I tried to take a photo when no one was looking. The tombola lady said she would tell my fortune but the predictions were a bit vague but apparently there are angels looking over me (!). She also said I could come to her cancer support group and it didn't matter that I didn't have cancer or know anyone who had it.

Craft fair which wasn't a craft fair

Here a picture of me at the event at the town hall in Lewes which wasn't actually a craft fair. It was an event where volunteers got certificates and a lot of people looked at my jewellery but only one person bought something but I didn't mind. I met a very nice lady called Jay who has two sheep called Roger and Dave. Here is her etsy shop.
Here is picture of Norman Baker at the event, who didn't even come and look at my earrings, although I'll let him off because he is probably busy arguing with people about selling off the forests etc.

MiniPatisserie necklaces are now available from Angelfood bakery in the lanes in Brighton on sale at £14.95. I am just hoping they don't get stolen! I have also taken new stock to the IO gallery in Sydney Street in Brighton and Butterflies in Lewes. Here is a picture from the Angelfood bakery:-

Well we went to the private view at the Into the Woods Open House in Florence road in Brighton on Friday and there were loads of things to look at. The best things were made by Emily Warren. For quite a lot of the time though I just stood and ate the crisps because they were the really nice kettle chips type of crisp. Also there were homemade sushi rolls that I could fit in my mouth in one go which probably didn't look very ladylike. Alice bought a ring that looked like it should have magical powers then we watched the chickens running around and drank wine until we both felt a bit drunk.

Eating cakes in the name of research

Being the dedicated researchers that we are, minipatisserie have been visiting various full size patisseries. Our favourite so far is Cocoa on Queens Road in Brighton. The cakes and coffee are perfect (there is a cake gallery on their website to check out) and the people who work there are lovely and always remember us when we go in. We recommend the pear and chocolate tart or the passion fruit and white chocolate.

The Buttercup cafe in Lewes is a lovely place as well. I had no idea it was there until last week but I'm glad I was introduced to it as the chocolate cake was amazing.

Another place we went was the C&H cafe which was a bit over priced but I did take this photo of a trifle (which I didn't buy).

In other news, we made these cupcakes for our Brother who loves Roger Federer, I think you'll agree it is quite possibly the most artistic thing we've ever done. However, if you prefer slightly classier cupcakes then check out our friend Lucy and her Heaven Is a Cupcake site as they are pretty rad.

Rob Ryan has been a favourite of mine since I came across 'This is for you.'

Castor and Pollux had an exhibition of his work recently. Or not that recently. I just looked it up and it was a year ago.

But it was very good. I could happily decorate my whole house in his stuff.

Craftacular Photos

Well, we had a really good time at the Bust Craftacular. We ate some cupcakes, drank some tea, met lots of interesting people, danced to some great songs and even sold a few things too. It's taken a little while to recover but now we are back on form, here are some photos from the day.

Caroline behind our already wonky stall. We had just been given a two minute warning before they let people in.

These heads are made by Emily Warren and sold almost immediately. Must bring replacements next time!

Tatty Devine's record breaking charm bracelet. Their stuff is always great and they are having a half price sale at the moment so it's a good time to head over there.

The DJs all day were brilliant. I think this is the Queens of Noize dancing.

Caroline and Louise. Louise was an absolute star for helping out, I don't think we could have managed without her (thanks!).

Big News for Small Things

We are very excited to have been accepted for Bust's Summer Craftacular!

We visited the Christmas event and were very impressed by the stalls, the outfits, the people and especially the cakes.

This time we will have our own stall so the last couple of weeks have been very busy getting everything together. Hope you can pop by!

Well the Brighton festival has finished... loads of people took the little business cards that were from moo.com and we had to order another lot. Unfortunately there was about £50 worth of jewellery missing at the end of the month which seems to have been nicked and this isn't so great...but it was a good experience. I can't make any more items for the etsy shop just yet because I haven't got all my tools and clay with me at the moment but I will as soon as possible. I have had some interesting people that have started to follow me on twitter recently including NJDMiniatures and Jemjoop. Also here are some photos of the festival;

Hello to anyone that's interested. I am going to be showing some stuff off this year in the Brighton festival at 13 Lincoln Cottages on the Hanover trail. I am getting a bit stressed trying to get everything ready for it because I have got so many other things to do as well but I managed to make some donuts and croissants and I found a little mouse that I made ages ago.

I also made some marshmallows and a cheeseboard. The photos are a bit rubbish though and I haven't done the blue lines on the stilton yet.....

The first is of an Icelandic graveyard which was in the middle of nowhere. The second is some wild ponies we found wandering around and the third is me having a fag (I don't smoke anymore).

I have decided to combine two of my interests (fimo and celebrities) by harassing celebrities and trying to get them to comment on my jewellery. This is what Stephen Fry replied on twitter; 'Deeply impressive.... delicious looking x' and IT REALLY WAS HIM. I then asked Alan Davies from Jonathan Creek and also Mike Skinner from The Streets. They have so far declined to comment.

Today I spent ages trying to make a pair of chocolate earrings because I kept doing it wrong. The result is shown above. Unfortunately I got disturbed in the middle of making them by a giant bee that flew in and chased me for a bit. I managed to shut it in the kitchen but then the door handle fell off.

Finally I have had chance to make some more stuff. Unfortunately everything seems to get covered in fluff a few seconds after being made. Where does all the fluff come from I wonder? Anyway it seems that 6 of my necklaces have been sold in Brighton in January! - which cheered me up today somewhat. Nobody has purchased the cherry pies (possibly because they look like raw meat pies).
